Government Mostly Gets It Wrong

Many Canadians feel their politicians have powers and talents to make things right. In fact the opposite is true.. What all levels of government don’t know:

  • Lower taxes allows economies to grow and prosper; see Ireland, U.S., Poland, etc

  • Government stay out of real estate and developing;  see Cleary, Arena fiasco, Chrysler Building

  • Socialism always fails; only variable is time; see Soviet Union, Africa, Latin America, China, India etc.

  • No difference between NDP and Liberals; see Bob Rae

  • Placing criminals ahead of victims is not justice; see Canada

  • Allowing government unions creates exorbitant pay, taxes, reduced services; see Canada

  • Free trade lowers prices, increases variety, wealth. See all empires in history, EU and NAFTA.

  • Knee jerk reaction legislation is costly; see gun registry, forced bilingualism.

  • Open-ended welfare and provincial equalization produces no improvements and facilitates status quo.  See Maritime provinces, Quebec, native Canadians.

  • Allotting students to government neighbourhood schools, not offering student choice based on competition creates weaker educational system; see a bachelor’s degree today equaling 1960 high school diploma, 15 per cent  Canadian illiteracy.
  •
  • MP’s and MPP’s  representing their party not constituents creates weaker democracy; see Canada

  • The State causes shortages and inferior products. See Canadian health-care, CBC, LCBO, Windsor services etc.

  • Appeasement leads to conflict; see WW II, Kosovo, Bosnia, Holocaust.
  •
  • Working against your largest supplier, customer, ally, natural cultural twin hurts the smaller party. See tariffs, border slowdowns, loss of jobs Canada vs U.S. etc.

I can go on … you get the point.. I hope.

These words should strike terror in the hearts of anyone in business:

"I'm from the government and I'm here to help you."
